Cekovsky steps up, leads Terps to 79-56 victory over Howard

In the absence of senior big human being Damonte Dodd (sprained MCL, left leg), the Terps looked to an even bigger human being in the 7-human foot-1 Michal Cekovsky. The junior tied his career-high 16 points Midweek in the Terps' 79-56 win over Howard.

While Cekovsky stepped upward, going 8 for 9 from the field, the Terps' star Melo Trimble fell silent. Trimble tallied only x points and did not drive to the hoop as often equally he typically does. Instead, it was junior baby-sit Jaylen Brantley who stepped upwards, recording 14 points.
Maryland started the game cold and took an excessive corporeality of iii bespeak shots. The Terps took fourteen of the first 19 shots from long range. Motorbus Marker Turgeon said that the team did non following the game programme in the start one-half.
"We had some great looks in the offset half, just nosotros watched a lot of moving-picture show and one of our keys was to play inside-out and our guys weren't doing it," Turgeon said. "That was the disappointing office, so I had to go into halftime and yell."
Maryland started the second half strong and never looked back. The Terps pushed the brawl inside to the large men, which was Turgeon's original game plan. That opened upwards offensive opportunities for the rest of the team.
The big question for Maryland at present revolves around the depth players and if they can go along to be effective in helping make an impact on offense.
